New Mexico Spring Break

We headed off for our traditional New Mexico round trip for Spring Break this year. Unfortunately, Kevin could not join us this time. Instead, G'ma and G'pa got to come with us! We left Friday right afterschool as it was a half day. We made it into Santa Fe around 11:30ish Friday night. We stayed with Uncle Mike and had lots of fun. We fed horses, rode the tractor, scooped horse poop, played with Brutus, brushed horses and jumped on the trampoline.

Casey came in from Albuquerque for the day and we headed up to Bandolier. The kids got to climb around the cliffs and ladders and see where our native Americans used to live. J. was obsessed with Casey and was at his side, on his back, or in his arms the whole day. She cried and cried when we put Casey back on the train that evening. She certainly loves her cousin (well, my cousin).

We got to have dinner with my mother's cousins, Karen and Jerry and also with my father's cousins, Gary and Dorothy. Gary and Dorothy happened to be in Santa Fe for the legislature at the same time we were up there.

We also went site seeing on the plaza and hit the Children's Museum.

We left Thursday morning for Roswell to see my Great Aunt Vi and Uncle Bob. It was good to see them again. Uncle Bob is going deaf and it was rather amusing to listen to Aunt Vi and Uncle Bob snap at each other. :)

We left Roswell on Friday morning and drove to the Caverns. S. gave out not even a quarter of the way into the cave and wanted to be carried. G'ma and G'pa stayed in the lunch room with a sleeping S. while I took the other two through the Big Room. As always, the caverns are my favorite place in the world. The kids love them too!

We stayed until Sunday with Gary and Dorothy. The kids loved Chico and Bro, their dogs and wore them out. Poor dogs. They are not used to the activity level of my children.

We made it home Sunday evening just in time for dinner. It was a great Spring Break!
