Wicket in the Snow

This dog had a great time in the snow!

Finally, Some Snow!

After 3 days of ice, we finally got some snow. The forecast predicted .05 to 1.5 inches. We ended up with 6"!! The kids woke up to a winter wonderland. They were out playing around 8:00 this morning. They played in both the front and back yards until about 9:15 when they decided it was much too cold and time to come in. Poor S.'s cheeks were bright red. It has been about 30 minutes and his cheeks are still pretty red. It is currently 19 degrees outside.

Kevin tried to go into work this morning but ended up sliding down the driveway and getting stuck between the trees and our drive. He managed to get out and pull around to the front of the house. He decided it was not worth it trying to get to work today!

Wicket had a great time zipping around the backyard. She loved biting the snow and plowing through it. There is a layer of ice underneath and so she was sliding all over the place. I got a great video of her psycho-zipping through the snow.

Ice, Ice, Ice

Ice storm in Dallas and it's a big one. The kids have been out of school for two days and we are looking at the possibility of two more! The temperatures during the day are staying in the teens and low 20's and the lows are approaching single digits. There is no opportunity for the ice to melt until Saturday! My plants don't stand a chance. :(

Sick of Strep

J. has strep. I never would have guessed that all the vomiting and other digestive issues would be strep related. She started throwing up at the ice rink while at a sleepover. The mom brought her home and she spent the rest of the day throwing up. She couldn't keep anything down all day.

By Sunday morning, she was running a 102.2 fever that elevated to 103.2 within an hour. I called the Dr. and they had me bring her in.

She is dehydrated, imagine that, and has strep. We are giving her anti-nausea medication to help keep any fluid and the anti-biotics down. It is day three and she is sitting up today but has yet to eat anything for me. :(

I hate strep! Luckily, it didn't hit M. this badly it just hit him every few weeks during Kindergarten until we had his tonsils out. This is only the second time J. has had it and it has never hit her throat.

I feel badly for her and hope she gets some food and water in her today as she is so weak. If we can keep antibiotics in her, maybe she will get well enough to eat and drink something soon.
